Academic careers are built between the milestones: the paper that needs a publication fee, the conference that needs airfare, the graduate application that needs test fees. GEF Academia Support funds these smaller, decisive moments.

Publication Support

We cover article processing charges for papers accepted in reputable, peer-reviewed journals, up to $600 (or the naira equivalent). We do not fund publication in predatory journals — applicants can check their target journal against recognised indexing databases, and our review team verifies before disbursement.

Registration and travel support up to ₦300,000 for scholars presenting accepted papers or posters at recognised academic conferences.

For high-achieving graduates pursuing advanced study, we cover standardised test fees, application fees, and credential evaluation — the roughly $1,000 barrier that keeps talented Nigerians from even applying to top graduate programmes.
